Technology
Technology is a very broad term. We concentrate mainly on technologies related with the corporate and individual management of information and related concepts. Simple: Information technologies to its largest sense.
Companies depend on information technologies. The better they are managed and operated, usually the better the company is off. There is academic and practical evidence that there is a direct correlation between IT performance and enterprise performance. As IT maturity improves, usually the enterprise outperforms its competition and achieves extraordinary results.
Especially in cases of non-standard approaches and “out-of-the-box” thinking, companies achieve best-in-class figures in terms of productivity, customer intimacy or profitability. And exactly that should be “name of the game” for IT functions of enterprises.
However, life teaches us wrong, since enterprises mostly lack of mature IT functions. Due to lack of skills and competencies, recognition and support from upper management and wrong decisions. Every company has the IT function it deserves. As upper management empowers and engages with IT, the IT function evolves and becomes integer part of the company.
No corporate governance without IT governance. No board maturity, without IT maturity. No strategy work, without in place IT strategy. This phrases could go on and on…
We developed a framework to help companies to grow their IT functions mature and benefit from it. This should be the intention of every executive management and responsive manager.
